Assolda pip Panjim Veterans
FATORDA: Assolda Veterans got the better of Panjim Veterans 3-1 to move into the quarter final of the 1st All-Goa Fatorda Veterans tournament played at Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
In the 2nd minute, Assolda’s Peter Peixoto took control of the ball from the midfielder and shot from the top of the rival box but the Panjim defender made a goal line save.
At the other end Panjim had a chance to score through Alex Alvares but the strikers move was tackled by the rival defenders.
Later, Peter Peixoto managed to finally find the breakthrough in the 14th minute and later went on to complete his hat-trick netting a goal each in the 48th and 50th minutes respectively.
Alex Alvares reduced the margin for Panjim Veterans from the spot.
