PEDDA-BENAULIM: Bab Bakery Raia defeated CAC Cansaulim 6-5 via the tiebreaker to move into the semi-finals of the New Era Club inter village Under-14 tournament trophy, organised by New Era Club Benaulim and being played at Xemu Moll ground Benaulim on Monday.
CAC Cansaulim went in the early lead through Melson D'Souza when he scored off a free kick taken by Masaiah in the eighth minute. Bab Bakery Raia equalised through Kifern Dias with a neat finish in the 20th minute. The teams were level 1-1 at the lemon break.
Crossing over both the teams played cautiously and tried to control the game by playing possession football. However, no more goals were scored and the game ended in a 1:1 draw at the end of the regulation time.
In the resultant tie breaker Raia proved to be better shooters.
Kifern Dias of Bab bakery Raia was declared man of the match.
