PANJIM: Bardez Veterans steamrolled Fatorda Forward Veterans by a huge margin of 9-1 to meet Ponda Veterans in the quarterfinals of the Monte de Guirim Platinum Jubilee Veterans Football tournament, at Sangolda Panchayat ground, on Wednesday.

Pascoal Pereira scored the opener for Bardez in the 5th minute and then Agostinho got into the act by scoring thrice in succession to put his team 4-0 up leaving Fatorda with a mountain to climb back into the match. Caje Santiago scored for Fatorda with a fine shot end the first half 4-1.

The second half was again one way traffic with Lino and Alwyn putting their names on the score sheet before Agotinho got into the act again scoring thrice to complete his double hat-trick and walk away with the man-of-the-match award.
