PANJIM: Bhatikar Model High School beat Saraswat Vidyalaya by 6 wickets  to emerge as champions of the late Dilip Sardesai U-16 school cricket tournament  organised by the Goa Cricket Association, at GCA ground, Porvorim, on Saturday. 

Saraswat won the toss and elected to bat. They were bundled out for 97 runs in 31 overs. Om Madgaonkar and Sanket Bandodkar opened the batting for Saraswat Vidyalaya. Om scored 27 off 39 balls before he was sent back to the pavilion by S Singh while Sanket (7) was bowled by S Gajinkar. None of the the Saraswat batsmen could contribute much for their team as the Bhatikar bowlers managed to restrict their opponents to decent target. 

Sujay Naik and Kaushal Hattangadi scalped 3 wickets each while Shrey Singh picked up 2 wickets. Shubham Gajinkar and Sanath Nevagi managed to pick a wicket each. 

In reply, Bhatikar Model HS chased the target down in 28.4 overs. Devan Chittem scored an unbeaten 50 while Deep Kaswankar(14) and Junaid Sayyad(15) contributed to the chase. 

The Saraswat bowlers couldn't do much damage to the batting side as Rudrakshy Sangodkar managed to pick up 2 wickets while Chirag Naik had to settle for just a wicket. 

Kaushal Hattangadi was declared the Man-of-the-Match. Individual prizes are as follows: Best batsman: Om Madgaonkar, Best bowler: Sujay Naik and Player of the tournament: Shubham Ghajinkar.
