Bloomz International steamroll Child Care school; YFA Warriors, Perpetual Succour HS book semi-finals berth
MARGAO: Bloomz International steam rolled Child Care School 9-0 in the 2nd Chowgule Sports Centre U-10 Futsal league organised by Youth Futsal Academy in partnership with Chowgule Sports Centre, on Tuesday.
Man-of-the-Match Elrich D’Silva scored a double hat-trick. Samuel Dias scored a brace and Velroy Estibeiro scored a goal for the winners.
Hosts YFA Warriors sealed their place in the semi-finals with a hard fought 3-2 victory against a spirited Rosary HS. The win dashed Rosary HS hopes of reaching the last four. Samuel D’Souza opened the scoring for YFA before an own goal from a deflected kick in brought Rosary back in the game. Manthan Sazunke then made YFA pay for a costly error between the keeper and the defender. Samuel D’Souza equalised with a neat finish after being played through by Lochlan Souza. Irwin Faleiro scored the winner late with a opportunistic finish. Skipper Vardaan Pathania was adjudged the Man-of-the-match for his exemplary defending.
Perpetual Succour Convent HS booked their place in the semi-finals by finishing on top of the league with 30 points out of a possible 33, losing just one game in the process.
They got the better of Manovikas EMS 3-1 in the last match of the league. MOTM Sherlock Dias scores a brace and Emmanuel Gama scored the other. Keyaan Kuknoor scored a consolation for Manovikas EMS.
Marina English HS, Verna booked their place in the last four with a comfortable 5-0 victory over The Kings School. Johan Abranches scored a brace, Addison Fernandes, MOTM Snyder D’Costa and Trance Fernandes scored a goal each for the winners.
Loyola HS, Margao cruised to a comfortable 6-0 victory over Infant Jesus, Colva becoming the final team to complete the semi-final line-up. Man-of-the-Match Kiam Pinto scored four times while Morgan Noronha and Saksham Shane scored a goal each for the winners.
The semi-finals will be played on October 19. Perpetual Succour Convent will meet Loyola HS in the first semis at 9.00 a.m. in a repeat of last year’s final while Marina English, Verna will lock horns with YFA Warriors in the second semis to be played at 10.15 a.m.
The 3rd/4th place play of and the final will be played on October 20 from 8.30 a.m.
