Calangute make semis grade
MAPUSA: Calangute Association Sports Club had to wait till the tie-breaker before making their way into the semi-finals of the XI Reira Soccer Cup, with a 6-5 win over Penha de Franca, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, played at Saligao ground, on Friday.

MAPUSA: Calangute Association Sports Club had to wait till the tie-breaker before making their way into the semi-finals of the XI Reira Soccer Cup, with a 6-5 win over Penha de Franca, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, played at Saligao ground, on Friday.
Penha de Franca broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute of play through Mohammad Mudasar who scored from inside the Calangute goal area, 1-0.
Crossing over Vithal Vaigankar levelled terms for Calangute when he positioned himself perfectly to tap the ball home, 1-1.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
