MERCES: Carmibhatt A earned a narrow 1-0 win over Voilem Bhat in the 4th Pogo Boys Cup, Merces at Merces church ground, on Thursday.

Carmibhatt's Harish had a go at goal but Voilem Bhat goalie Joel did well to hold onto the ball. Voilem Bhat Sudesh tried a shot from distance after a lovely ball played to him by team mate Rajesh, but Sudesh managed a weak shot goalwards which was easily held onto by Carmibhatt goalie Sadanand. 

Carmibhatt had yet another chance to score a goal in the match when Sudeep's free kick's rebound which was taken by Tejan missed to hit the rival goal's net by a few inches. At lemon break the score line read 0-0 as none of the teams managed to break the deadlock.

Post resumption, both the teams looked to find the winner. Pumped up carmibhatt’s Sudeep tried a shot from the centre half but unfortunately his shot hit the goal post and went out of play. 

Later, Dattaram of Voilem Bhat was booked for a rough tackle on Harish just outside the D area. Sudeep took the free kick however the strike crashed into the rival wall. Tejan who was prowling took yet another shot from the rebound but the ball ballonned over. Joel of Voilem Bhatt controlled a ball well played to him by Gauresh but Carmibhatt makes a stunning save to shut the ball out. 

Carmi bhatt's Sahil finally broke the deadlock after he found a gap and slotted home the winner.
