RUMDAMOL: Chinchinim Veterans defeated Carmona Veterans 6-5 via the tiebreaker to move into the semi-final of the First Rehan Muzawar Cup, organised by Sporting Club de Rumdamol at Rumdamol football ground on Monday.
Martin Dias goalkeeper of Chinchinim Veterans was the star of the match with some excellent saves throughout the match.
Charles of Carmona Veterans opened the scoreline in the 20th minute but it didn't take long for Chinchinim Veterans. Inacio Cardozo equalised equalised for Chinchinim six minutes later.
In between, Robert Fernandes of Carmona Veterans missed open chances in the 35th and 59th minutes.
The second session was dominated by Carmona Veterans with Marcus Carvalho and Yuriand Rafik seeing their tries brilliantly saved by Martin Dias, goalkeeper of Chinchinim Veterans.
In the tiebreaker, Chinchinim Veterans netted through Jerry Fernandes, Inacio Cardozo, Adrian Lobo, Presley Pereira and Mathew Pereira.
Only Marcus Carvalho, Rafiq Bepari, Raju Cardozo and Charles found the net for Carmona Veterans.
Martin Dias, goalkeeper of Chinchinim Veterans was adjudged man of the match.
