QUEPEM: Cuncolim Union trounced St Rock Youth Club, Calata, Majorda 2-0 to march into the quarter-finals of the Fr Agnelo Youth inter-village football tournament, organised by Fr Agnelo Youth Sports Club, Paroda and played at Panchayat grounds, Quepem, on Tuesday.
There was no score at the break but after the changing sides, Cuncolim Union broke the deadlock as Bharat Gaonker scored from a close range. Down by a goal, St Roque Youth Club went all out for the equaliser but suffered another blow when Troyson D’Costa shot the ball into the far corner of the net after receiving a cross from Micky Fernandes. Roston Goes of St Rock Sports Club had a good scoring opportunity but failed to convert the chance.
