Cuncolim Union enter quarter-finals
CURTORIM: Cuncolim Union defeated Sao Jose de Areal 1-0 to move in to the quarter-finals of the Wilred Leisure Soccer tournament, organised by Wilred Leisure Curtorim, on Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs grouind, Curtorim, on Friday.

CURTORIM: Cuncolim Union defeated Sao Jose de Areal 1-0 to move in to the quarter-finals of the Wilred Leisure Soccer tournament, organised by Wilred Leisure Curtorim, on Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs grouind, Curtorim, on Friday.
Cuncolim Union had the first chance in the third minute when Leander D’Cunha won the ball in the midfield and connected to Beston Colaco, but Hasten Dias, defender of Areal tackled his move.
Areal had the chance in the 6th minute, when Aggio Antao sent in a low cross to unmarked Daryl Costa, but the latter shot wide.
Aggio Antao of Areal tried a scissors kick inside Cuncolim box off Raymond Fernandes cross in the 15th minute, but the former’s shot was denied by the Cuncolim word work.
Bersel Viegas of Areal took control of the ball from midfielder Samuel Costa and released a strike in the 54th minute from the edge of the Cuncolim box but the rival goalkeeper was equal to the task.
Cubcolim scored the match-winner at the hour mark through Benson Fernandes free-kick.
Cuncolim Union will lock horns with St Anthony SC Colva on Feburary 21 in the quarter-final.
