Cuncolim Union make semis grade
MAPUSA: Cuncolim Union Sports Club registered a resounding 5-1 win over St Anthony’s Sports Club Marna to enter the semi-finals of the 12th All Goa late Pio Jose Goveia Soccer Cup, organised by YSC Colvale, played at Colvale church grounds here on Thursday.

MAPUSA: Cuncolim Union Sports Club registered a resounding 5-1 win over St Anthony’s Sports Club Marna to enter the semi-finals of the 12th All Goa late Pio Jose Goveia Soccer Cup, organised by YSC Colvale, played at Colvale church grounds here on Thursday.
Marna colts stunned their opponents as they scored in the 12th minute though Sherwin Lobo from the penalty spot, 1-0.
It did not take long for Cuncolim outfit to equalize. A free kick by Micky Fernandes was guided Trijoy Dias, 1-1. In the 31st and 32nd minute Cuncolim hammered in two quick goals through Bharat Gaonkar and Treyson DCosta. Micky Fernandes made it 4-1 with a fierce grounder.
On crossing ends Cuncolim hammered in the fifth goal in the 45th minute through an fine placement by Melvin Fernandes, 5-1.
