Curtorim Gymkhana down Fr Agnel YC
DRAMAPUR: A splendid brace by Marcus Fernandes helped Curtorim Gymkhana beat Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club, Paroda 4-1 and marched into the final of All Goa 45th Chandor Seamen Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Chandor Club at Chandor ground, on Saturday.
In the 25th minute, Fr Agnel YSC’s Kanchan Khiro slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot. However, the joy was short-lived and four minutes later when Marcus Fernandes equalised.
Post resumption, Curtorim Gymkhana pumped in three more goals. Marcus Fernandes who was in thick action struck second time to register his brace soon after resumption to regained the lead.
Curtorim Gymkhana upped the ante and in the 53rd minute Milagres Fernandes punished the rival defence with clinical finish. Welson Fernandes sealed the rival fate in the 65th minute.
Curtorim Gymkhana will now meet Sporting Club of Davorlim in the final on September 23.
