Dempo SC, Sporting Clube win

PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club and Sporting Clube de Goa registered wins in their respective games of Goa Football Association U-20 Taca Goa League on Monday.

While the Golden Eagles scripted 2-0 win over Sesa FA at Sirsaim, the Flaming Oranje managed to beat Youth Club of Manora 5-3 at Duler Stadium.

At Sirsaim ground, Dempo Sports Club scored both the goals in the first half through Velanco Rodrigues (32') and Jimmy Colaco (42'). There was an end to end battle in the second session but the scores remained 2-0 till the final whistle in the favour of Dempo SC.

Meanwhile Sporting Clube de Goa put up a brilliant fight and came from two goals down to beat Manora 5-3.

Manora started the game on an attacking note and scored the first in the 21st minute through Ashwin Rebello. The team from South Goa doubled the account in the 42nd minute through Sweden Barbosa.  Sporting Clube de Goa managed to pull a goal back in the first half through Pratik Naik to make it 1-2.

Crossing over Sporting Clube de Goa were awarded a penalty in the 49th minute which was coolly converted by Pratik Naik, who completed his brace.

The Flaming Oranje then took total control of the game. Richie Vaz scored the third before Vellinto Faleira and Francisco Fernandes took the game beyond Manora's reach.

Manora pulled a goal back through Sweden who completed his brace in the 85th minute.
