PANJIM: Dempo Sports Club continued with their fine form with an emphatic win over Salgaocar FC in the AIFF U-13 Youth League match, at Dempo SC football academy ground, Old Goa, on Saturday. 

Coach Remus Gomes’ side after belittling FC in the previous encounter 11 - 0, today convincingly defeated Salgaocar’s in their 4th match of the U-13 Youth League. With this win Dempo SC banked 12 points in 4 matches. 

At the 8th minute of the game, the Golden Eagles found the opening goal with Dwayne’s fine shot from 18 yards found Atmaram who was at the right place at the right time to tap the ball in off rebound to take lead. 

Seven minutes later, Dwayne made a scorching solo run dribble past the rival defence and goalkeeper to score and double the lead for the home side. 

Dempo SC went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

On resumption, Rohit headed in the ball to score third goal for the Golden Eagles off corner kick taken by the captain Sherwin Abranches in the 43rd minute. 

Salgaocar had a chance to narrow down the margin in the 49th minute but ball hits the cross bar and went out of play. 

Within the next five minutes, substitute Shreyash Naik had an opportunity to add his name to the score line but the rival keeper came up with a brilliant one-on-one save.

In the very next minute, coach Remus brought in Shameek Vaz, who assisted Dwayne to complete his brace, the move began from mid-fielder Rajan putting in a through ball to Shameek and the latter with his two touch set low cross ball from left flank to unmarked Dwayne, made no mistake to make it 4-0. 

In the 55th minute Salgaocar had another chance to reduce the margin but this time under bar custodian of home side Sail came with an amazing save off the shot by Sydney from 18-yard line. 

Within couple of minutes later, Dwayne put a through ball to Shameek who with his powerful shot from 20-yards made it 5-0.
