MAPUSA: FC Goa came with a fine performance as they surprised Sporting Clube de Goa with a 2-0 win in the AIFF U18 Youth League (Goa Zone) played at Duler stadium, on Monday.

In the very 6th minute, FC Goa opened their account when Romario Da Costa positioned himself well to score with a firm header off a cross by Darren.

The match was then restricted to midfield where in the 46th minute FC Goa doubled their lead where Sezwin Fernandes getting hold of a through pass dribbled past the defender and onrushing keeper and scored to make it 2-0.

In the later stages of the match, FC Goa had three more chances to further increase their lead. However, Joybert Almeida was thwarted by Sporting keeper Akshat Hodkonkar in one to one situation, while Romario Da Costa and Macwil Fernandes strike hit the goal post.

Meanwhile at Sirsaim ground, Churchill Brothers SC managed to edge past Sesa Football Academy by 2-1 margin.

Sunil Kumar scored in the 13th minute for Churchill while Yuvraj Alatekar equalised for Sesa FA in the 35th minute.

On crossing over, in the 77th minute Hussain Pinjar scored the match winning goal for Churchill Brothers.
