MAPUSA: Football Club de Bardez routed Vasco Sports club by 6-0 in the Goa Professional League match organised by Goa Football Association (GFA), played at Duler Stadium, on Friday.

Though Vasco started the match on attacking note and created numerous chances in the first 30 minutes, it was Bardez who drew the first blood in the match when Jessel’s tap-in off Shubham Dessai’s perfect cross beat the keeper and finished in the net making it 1-0 for the Pink Brigade. 

It was not even a minute crossed on the match clock when Kirtikesh made it 2-0 for Bardez with a blistering shot from the 20-yards which ended up in the back of the net. 

Before these goals, Vasco had a good start as they had a good chance to go on a lead in the 11th minutes when Franky was in a one-on-one situation with Bardez keeper Aliston Fernandes but the striker failed to control his shot as the ball went out for a goal-kick. They had another opportunity in the 32nd minutes as Clive Coelho set up Schubert Pereira in the commanding position with a perfect through pass but the frontman saw his powerful strike brilliantly pushed away to safety by Bardez keeper.

The last few minutes of the first session witnessed two more goals from Bardez’s Clinton as he first, made an easy tap-in after receiving a pass from Shubham. While three minutes later, he covered some ground before unleashing a sparkling shot which ended up in the goal making it 4-0 for the Pink Brigade at the half-time. 

Bardez continued their domination after the resumption of play and scored their fifth goal in the 55th minutes when Clinton completed his hat-trick as the striker tap in the goal from the point-blank range to Kirtikesh’s cut-back pass. 

The Pink Brigade further inflated their lead in the 88th minutes, when Inacio Colaco’s powerful shot 

deflected shot ended up in the feet of Shubham whose neat placement found the net making it 6-0 for the North Goan club.

Bardez should have easily made 7-0 when referee Caetano Pereira awarded a penalty to Bardez following Godfray’s tackle on Jessel in the box but Chatur Naik failed to beat Vasco keeper Suresh from the spot.
