PANJIM: The Goa Football Association expressed deep shock at the passing away of former Sesa and state player Mauricio Pinto from Chinchinim. 

GFA president Elvis Gomes himself represented GFA at the funeral held at Chinchinim which was attended by a large crowd which included many international and national players of yesteryears. 

Elvis said that records show that Mauricio was a star player and had scored gem of a goal against Orissa in the Santosh trophy in 1972. 

Among those who attended the last rites were Teophilio, Nicholas, Ignatius, Shamsher, Mauricio Afonso , Tiburcio along with former colleagues in the Sesa Goa team.
