Goa to host National body building c’ship from April 13

MARGAO: The 6th Federation Cup, National Senior Men’s Body Building and Men’s and Women’s Sports Physique Championship, will be held at Ravindra Bhavan from April 13.

MARGAO: The 6th Federation Cup, National Senior Men’s Body Building and Men’s and Women’s Sports Physique Championship, will be held at Ravindra Bhavan from April 13. 

Addressing the media, Indian Body Builder Federation General General Secretary Chetan M Patre said that around 300 athletes and 100 officials from 31 state and Union Territories will participate in the championship which will be organised by Goa Body Building and Fitness Association.

The championship will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar while TCP Minister Vijay Sardessai will also be present for the function.

This will be the first national championship for the men as well as women sports physique to be organised in Goa,

Chetan was quick to give the credit to Sanjay Patil for getting the championship in the state

“Many national and international athletes including Sunit Jadhav of Maharashtra, who won the overall champion at senior category will be participating in the mens body building championship besides others,” revealed Chetan.

“ Vishant Gaude and Videsh Gaude from Ponda will be representing Goa,” he concluded.

The winners and runners-up will get prizes worth Rs 6 lakhs.
