MAPUSA: Goan Warriors registered a 2-0 win over Anjuna Gymkhana Sports Club in the GFA's U-14 Second Division league (Bardez Zone), played at Duler Stadium, here on Monday.

Goan Warriors were indeed a better side where both the goals came in the first session of play.

Goan Warriors surged ahead in the 4th minute where Zaid collected a pass from Nakul Gawas and dribbled past two defenders and scored with a neat placement, 1-0.

In the 14th minute, Goan Warriors doubled their lead where a corner by Vishank saw Zaid Khan control the ball and score, 2-0.

Zaid would have netted his brace but Anjuna keeper brought a fine save.

At the other end, Anjuna had a chance to reduce the margin but Nazir collecting a ball from Anthony saw his weak efforts being saved by Goan Warrior keeper.

On crossing over, Anjuna held the upper hand but failed to score. The best chance came in the 43rd minute when Sopam collected a pass from Nazir dribbled past three rival defenders but shot wide from close.

Meanwhile in the Salcete zone play offs, United Boys of Ambaulim recorded a massive 10-0 win over Ave Maria AWC at Artificial Turf, on Monday. Likson Rebelo scored double hat-trick netting in eight goals for the winners while Adrian Gomes bagged a brace. The winners led 8-0 at the break.
