PANJIM: Goa’s Anura Prabhu Desai, brand ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd., had to settle for the silver medal at the VV Natu Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton tournament, held in Pune, Maharshtra, recently.

Anura lost 10-21, 13-21 to India International Ruthvika Shivani Gadde in the final. This is the first time a Goan player has won silver medal in women’s singles category at All India Ranking.  Earlier, Anura hcreated history by being the first Goan to win gold at Senior All India Women’s doubles and Silver in singles at an International ranking event. Anura is ranked No 7 in women’s singles in India.
