Holy Spirit Institute thrash St Rita HS

Mevan struck two goals on either side of the lemon break to accomplish a rare feat but that was not before Bradley Carvalho got the breakthrough for the winners with a clinical finish in the 8th minute.

Saideep Pomburphekar and Aditya Salgaokar were the others to contribute to the tally.

In another encounter, Our Lady of Rosary Higher Secondary School steamrolled Our Lady of Rosary High School, also from Dona Paula, 7-0 in a girls league match.

Karishma Shirvoikar came up with a double strike in the first half and completed her hat-trick in the 60th minute. Simran Faterpekar chipped in with a brace while Blanche Almeida and Dixita Shirvoikar found the net to put their name on the scorers’ list.

In a closely fought college boys match, Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Goa Velha, outscored Birla Institute of Technology and Science KK Birla, Zuarinagar, 4-2 at the Fr. Agnel’s ground Verna.

Yogender Thapa opened account for Fr Agnel but their lead was immediately neutralised by Gurdain Singh who beat the goalkeeper from the spot after one of their player was fouled in the box Shankar Gaunder not only struck a goal in the 30th minute but played a crucial role to emerge man of the match while Chandan Gawas and Ganesh Thakur got into the act to give Fr Agnel’s a comfortable 4-1 lead.

Just when the Velha team looked to be running away with the match, Parth Madan pulled one back for Birla Institute.
