MB United, Goa Police move into quarter-finals
CURCHOREM: MB United of Cuncolim and Goa Police booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 9th Babu Brothers leather ball cricket tournament in memory of ex Ranji cricketer Rajesh Ghodge, at SAG Sports Complex ground, Curchorem, on Wednesday.
In the first match, MB United defeated Mathura Farm of Curchorem by 16 runs while in the second match, Goa Police stunned Dempo Jrs by 3 wickets. Score in brief: MB United, 153 for 9 in 20 overs (Rajesh Tukadia 43, Shubham Desai 32, Avishkar Mone 11 runs. Ashwin Naik 2-32, Vicky Naik 2-35, Sweekar Parab 1-12) beat Mathura Farm, 137 all out in 19.2 overs (Saish Sawant Desai 35, Ashwin Naik 31, Imran Mulla 20 runs. Sachin Mishra 3-22, Arjun Morajkar 2-38, Siddharth Mandrekar 1-17).
