NAVELIM: Mandopa SC and SWC Zaino played out a 1-1 draw in the GFA Second Division match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.

The match started with both the teams trying to score past their rivals to take the necessary lead. In the 7th minute Jeet Gupta keeper of SWC Zaino made a brilliant save of Mandopa SC’s Mobin Gomes’ stike.

Jade Colaco of SWC Zaino then dribbled past Joseph Gomes, defender of Mandopa SC and shot from close range but Cleton Gomes, keeper of Mandopa was equal to the task in the 12th minute.

With chances wasted, Jade Colaco this time didn’t make any mistake and finally drew the first blood after he scored with his left footer from the right flank in the 37th minute. 

Just a few minutes before the whistle for the first half, Mandopa’s Mobin Gomes’ header missed the nets of Zaino.

Finally, William Niasso levelled scores with a ground shot for Mandopa SC in the 45+1 minute to take the matchback to where it started.

Post resumption, Zaino’s Jade Colaco missed a glorious sitter failing to take the lead for Zaino as he shot wide in the 50th minute. 

Substitute for Zaino Jeniton D’Silva’ low drive shot was easily saved by the rival keeper in the 89th minute.

In another match, at Cansaulim ground, Parish Youth Consua defeated Dabolim YC 4-3.

Zylster Lucas opened the account for Parish Youth Consua in the 9th minute while Joywin D’Souza equalised for Dabolim Youth Club within ten minutes. 

Plarino Fernandes made it 2-1 for Parish Youth Consua in the 41st minute with Zylster Lucas completing his brace making it 3-1 in the 55th minute.

Gilman Carvalho further inflated the lead for Consua in the 58th minute, 4-1.

Mohan Dessas and Vicky Miranda scored a goal each for Dabolim in the 74th and 90+3 minute however they couldn’t find the equaliser.

The match between St Rock YC and Maina SC ended goalless draw, at Curtorim ground while St Sebastian UC defeated Fr Agnel YC, Paroda 2-1, at Ambelim ground.
