National Open Blind chess championship from April 25

QUEPEM: Unique Chess Academy affiliated to Quepem Taluka Chess Association will organize the Romano Luis Fernandes and Luizinho Dourado Memorial National Open Blind Fide Rating Chess Championship from April 25 to 28, at Someshwar Temple Hall, Shirvoi-Quepem. 

 The tournament is recognized by Goa Chess Association and All India Chess Federation for the Blind.

The tournament will be played in 9 rounds as per the Swiss League System. Players from different states have confirmed their entries. A total of 250 blind persons have registered their entries including top rated players which includes Kishan Ganuli (6 Times National Champioon), ShriKrishna Udupa from Karnataka, Swapnil Shah, Aryan Joshi from Maharashtra, Soundharya Kaumar Pradhan (World Silver Medalist), Ashwin Makhawan (International player from Gujarat) and Sanjay Kavlekar (Natioanl A player) from Goa.

The first round of the tournament will be played on April 25 and the last round will be played on April 27 evening which will be followed by prize distribution ceremony on April 28 at 10.30 a.m.
