Navelim SC pip CAC, enter quarters
RAIA: Navelim SC got the better of CAC Sports and Social Club 1-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 46th Custodio Memorial football tournament organised by Raia Sporting, played at Raia Panchayat ground on Friday.

RAIA: Navelim SC got the better of CAC Sports and Social Club 1-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 46th Custodio Memorial football tournament organised by Raia Sporting, played at Raia Panchayat ground on Friday.
Both teams dominated the first half. It was Covan Lawrence for Navelim SC who took control of the ball from Clinton Niasso and shot from the top of the Cansaulim box but the Cansaulim keeper was equal to the task in the 5th minute.
In the 35th minute, Clinton finally scored the much deserved lead when Covan Lawrence smartly connected the ball to unmarked striker and he finished off in style from close range, 1-0.
Cansaulim tried their level best to equalise through Domnic Soares in the 48th minute but his shot sailed over the bar.
Navelim SC sealed their defence line till the end of the match to maintain the lead .
Navelim SC will meet CDJ Ribandar in the quarter-final on July 8.
