FATORDA: Navelim Veterans defeated Davorlim Veterans 4-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 1st all- Goa Fatorda Veterans Football, played at Don Bosco ground, Fatorda, on Friday.

Davorlim’s Rui Niasso should have put the ball at the back of the Navelim net in the 12th minute but a timely clearance from the goal-line by Navelim’s Frank Fernandes was the best save in the first half. Uday Naik and Bento D’Silva of Navelim missed sitters in the 24th and 26th minutes respectively. 

As the match was about to end, Davorlim’s Paulo Nisso failed to convert..

 In the tie-breaker, Navelim Veterans proved to be better shooters.
