MAPUSA/RAIA: PVC Parra registered a hard-fought 3-2 win over Dunes SC Mandrem in the GFA’s Second Division League match played at Parra ground, on Wednesday.

PVC Parra went into the lead with Pradeep Bind leaping high above the rival defenders to nod Hilton Fernandes corner into the goal, 1-0.

Dunes SC should have levelled terms where a free-kick by Sangam Pednekar saw Hrutik Harmalkar tap out of the goal.

At the other end, a rasping shot by PVC Parra’s Presley Pinto sail just over the crossbar.

Just two minutes into the second session and PVC Parra doubled their lead with Pradeep Bind, collecting a long ball from Anantha Krishna, slotted the ball into the goal, 2-0.

Dunes SC came into the match with Hrutik scoring from a goalmouth melee, 2-1.

As the match progressed, PVC Parra’s substitute Shadab Sheikh made it 3-1 beating Dunes SC’s onrushing goalkeeper with a neat placement. 

Once again Dunes SC colts came back into the match with substitute Alberto Britto scoring a gem of a goal, 3-2.

In the added time, Dunes SC’s Pranesh Asvenkar missed a glorious chance to level terms after once again PVC Parra’s custodian Augustin D'Mello fumbled in his collection.

At Poriat ground, Benny XI managed to edge past Pilerne SC by 2-1 margin.

All the goals came in the second session of play.

Benny XI opened their account with Tushar Dhulapkar connecting Samuel Mate cross into the goal, 1-0.

Minutes later, Gauraj Kunkolkar made it 2-0 scoring off an assist from Stepelton Fernandes.

Pilerne SC managed to reduce the margin in the dying minutes of the match through Chandan’s goal, 2-1.

Benny XI custodian Akash Sirsaikar brought two outstanding saves and also saved a spot kick to give victory for his team.

FC Goa scored a fluent 2-0 win over FC Tuem in the Bardez Zone, at Guirim ground. 

Guirdolim Club and Curtorim Gymkhana played out a goalless draw in the Salcete Zone, at Nagao ground. 

Carmel SC outplayed Parish Youth, Nuvem, 4-0 in the Salcete Zone match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.

Keegan Fernandes, Prince Figueredo, Sandeep Chaudhary and Jollyton Fernandes netted a goal each for Carmel SC.

At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda, blanked Sports and Welfare Club Zaino, Velim, 3-0. 

In 38th the minute, St Anthony SC opened the account through Milton Colaco. In the second session of play, St Anthony SC scored two goals in the 48th and 80th minute through Valento Fernandes and Jaison Dias respectively.
