PANJIM: Parish Youth Nuvem edged past Raia Football Club 2-1, in the GFA U-14 league, at Curtorim ground, on Friday.

Both the teams started the match on equal footing and tried to get the ball past the rival citadel to have the upper hand in the match however the Nuvem side were the first ones to find the breakthrough in the 15th minute as Jeff Dias calmly slotted the ball home to give his side the desired advantage in the game.

The Nuvem side took control of the game hence and constantly troubled the rival citadel with intriguing raids and were finally successful in the 22nd minute as they netted the second goal through Nickeil Chittcatti.

Down by two goals the Raia side tried hard to get a goal on the scoreboard and finally managed to score a consolation in the 25th minute through Velito Pereira.

In another match at Ambelim ground, Pinto's Youth Club Baradi registered a fluent 2-0 win over Verna Sports Club.

The Baradi side scored a goal in either of the session.

It was Velton Simoes who scored the opener for the winners in the 12th minute while Frenz Cardozo netted the second goal in the 53rd minute to give his side the deserved win.

In another match at DBO ground, Don Bosco Oratory humbled Rossman Cruz Nagoa 9-0.

Rio Gomes opened the scoring for the home side and went on to complete his brace later in the game before Mohammed Sufiyan doubled the lead in the 26th minute while Micheal Dias scored a hat trick.

Jason Mascarenhas, Siddell Arwaro and Elisens Niasso were the other scorers for the winners.
