Quepem Veterans prevail
CAVELOSSIM: Quepem Veterans registered a hard fought 1-0 victory over Nuvem Veterans to enter the semi-finals of the 1st all Goa late Joseph Alves Veterans soccer organised by Cavelossim Villagers forum, at Father Drustian Wellington ground, Cavelossim, on Wednesday.
Nuvem Veterans almost scored in the ninth minute but Pratap Sawant's strong header was cleared off the line by Quepem goalkeeper Anil Fernandes.
After changing ends, Nuvem increased the pressure and came close to scoring the equaliser but Marcus Carvalho's shot went inches off the rival side post.
Nuvem were desperate for the equaliser and were frustrated by Quepem defence marshalled by Raymond D’Souza who took control of the match.
