Raia SC, SCS Poitomado score big wins
RAIA: Raia SC scored a resounding 4-0 win over Maharudra SC in the Goa Football Association Third Division League match, at Raia ground, on Saturday.
Despite starting brightly, neither of the teams were able to break the deadlock in the first half.
However, Raia SC opened their account in the 75th minute through Danny Fernandes. Danny doubled the lead in the 80th minute before Marcus Fernandes scored the third in the 82nd minute. Danny completed his hat-trick just before the final whistle.
In another match played at Ambelim ground, Santa Cruz Society of Poitomado thumped Dramapur SC 8-3.
The opening minutes encountered cagey affair, however, Shubham Gaonkar scored the first goal in the 20th minute for Poitmado. But Dramapur fought back and scored two quick goals through J Shaikh and Edwin Soares. At the half hour mark, Sachin restored parity for Poitmado.
Melwin gave SCS Poitomado the lead just before the breather. But crossing ends, Dramapur were back on level terms as Cavin Pinto scored from a close range finish.
In the final quarter, Neville Fernandes scored five goals to take the final tally to 8-3.
In the GFA U-16 League match at Nagoa ground, Salgaocar FC got walk over as PAX of Nagoa failed to report at the venue.
