Reeve’s brace seals last 8 berth for Dicarpale
DICARPALE: Dicarpale Sports Club defeated Tilamola United Sports Club 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Our Lady of Fatima Cup organised by Dicarpale Sports Club and played at Dicarpale Panchayat ground on Wednesday.
Tilamola United Sport Club scored a surprise lead through Alvino Carvalho in the second minute. Despite constant efforts to get back into the game, Dicarpale team failed to get past the stubborn rival defence. Tilamola led 1-0 at the break.
Changing ends, Dicarpale came back strongly with renewed ideas and a different game plan which surprised the opponents. Dicarpale scored the equalising goal in the 45th minute through Reeve Costa.
On level terms, both teams tried to play more attacking game but Dicarpale soon took the lead through Reeve who completed his brace in style. Reeve on receiving the ball from midfield dribbled couple of rival defenders and rounded off the keeper to slam home. At the hour mark, Abhay Shetty scored the third for the winners.
