PANJIM: England’s quarter-final hero and Liverpool upcoming talent Rhian Brewster showed his calibre and potential against USA netting a hat-trick to storm into the semi-final and also labelling his side ‘a team to beat’ in the competition.

“We have progressed into the last four and we are the team to beat in this tournament!” exclaimed Rhian Brewster, who put up a solid display to send his side into their first semi-final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Undefeated in the tournament, the English side never made past the quarters stage prior to this event.

“We are definitely one of the best English side, as we are the first team to make it to this stage,” he explained

The teen sensation took the Fatorda Stadium by storm as he scored two world class goals in the matter of four minutes in the first half to give his side 2-0 halftime lead. Brewster had to wait till the last minute of the game to complete his hat-trick, which he scored from the spot kick.

“I’m very excited to score the hat-trick. You don't get to do it often in the World Cup as World Cups aren’t held often. So it’s really great for me and the team to do that,” expressed Brewster, who became the second player in this edition of the tournament to score treble.

According to Brewster, one shouldn't compare the international and club football as the two are completely different. “Both are different, in international football you don’t really get many opportunities to play. So you need the make best out of it. And when you play for the club, it’s like you play all the time,” justified Brewster.

England team put up a splendid team display which outplayed the strong USA team, which couldn't match with their opponents.

Despite hailing team efforts, coach Steven Cooper did make a special mention of Rhian Brewster for netting three and his composed performance during the post match conference following their 4-1 win over rivals USA.

“He (Brewster) got his goals well. What an achievement for him it is to score hat-trick in quarter-final. He is a talented player,” mentioned Cooper.

Growing up in London, Brewster began his football career with Chelsea, where he played for their U-14 side before moving on to Liverpool.

“I have been playing for them for last four years. I’m enjoying my life here at the moment,” said the young striker recalling his journey before joining The Reds.

The lad has been goal machines for Liverpool youth team and it won’t be a surprise to see him play for the Reds much sooner than expected.

Rhian Brewster trained with the senior team coach Jurgen Klopp. The lad praised the manager and said, “He is a great manager. I really like him. I have trained with the first team and he is good to me and helps me to groom. Hopefully I can play for him this year,” concluded Brewster eyeing a debut for Liverpool in the 2017-18 season.
