PANJIM: Sirlim Sports Club scored an easy 3-1 win over Navelim Villagers Union in the GFA U-16 League, at Cavelossim ground, on Sunday.

Primson Fernandes scored a fine hattrick for Sirlim SC while Mark Gomes narrowed the margin for the Navelim outfit.

Either of the teams were determined to get the first goal in order to have the upper hand in the match however, they were restricted to midfield play as the defences were on point.

It was in the 36th minute that Sirlim SC found the breakthrough as Primson Fernandes made a brilliant run and slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0.

Primson got another opportunity at the goal soon afterwards, and took full advantage of the same to net his second.

The score was 2-0 in favour of Sirlim at half time.

Post resumption, Navelim Villagers Union got their attacking units to work and made way past the rival defence to narrow the margin in the 65th minute.

Mark Gomes swept home the ball to keep the Navelim side in the game.

Thereafter, Navelim Villagers went all out trying to find the equaliser but were caught off guard by the Sirlim side as Primson scored in the 75th minute to seal the match.
