PANJIM: Sporting Clube de Goa humbled Vasco Sports Club 5-2, in the opening fixture of GFA U-20 TACA Goa League, Division League, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Sunday.

Sporting Clube de Goa side marshalled by Schubert D'Costa played brilliantly with Alston and Chandan upfront who constantly tried and tested the rival defence.

Sporting Clube after a few raids at the goal in the start of the match managed to finally find the breakthrough as Alston finely placed the ball inside the nets making it 1-0.

Struck by reverse, Vasco SC side captained by Schubert Pereira regrouped and found the equaliser soon enough as Kulsner swept home a brilliant ball by the midfielder to make it all square.

In the 39th minute, Vasco shot into the lead with Jesley Moniz slotting the ball past the keeper making it 2-1 before half-time in favour of Vasco SC.

Post resumption, the Flaming Oranje side came up with an impressive performance and tried their level best to get the match back to where it all started. After a few futile attempts, it was Lyson Vaz who scored the equaliser in the 70th minute.

Within a minute, Sporting Clube scored once again through Chandan Gawas who made no mistake to tap the ball in.

Vasco SC tried to make amends for their mistake and went all out in order to find the equaliser but were caught off guard by the rivals as they scored twice once with Alston in the 80th minute and second through Chandan in the add on time.

At full-time the scores read 5-2 in favour of Sporting Clube de Goa.
