BENAULIM: United Club of Seraulim and St Anthony Club Colva played out a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association Third Division League match, played at Benaulim ground, on Friday.

Both teams eyeing a victory, went out all guns blazing as they showed their attacking intent right from the first whistle.

However, strong defending from either sides kept the scoreline intact for major part of the play.

Just as it looked the teams were heading into the dressing room goalless. Sydney Sequeira put Seraulim side ahead with a clean finish.

The goal surprised the opponents, who came back stronger but the referee’s half time whistle broke their momentum.

Post resumptions, St Anthony Colva dominated the play and tried to find the much needed breakthrough and they were finally rewarded in the 70th minute when Cliford Fernandes netted the leveller.

Mackenly Cunha of UC Seraulim and Remedio Fernandes and Joel Tavares- both of St Anthony Colva were booked for rough play.
