PANJIM: UC Nerul scored an easy 4-1 win over Saligao United to move into the quarter-finals of the 11th London Trophy 2017 organised by Goa Velha SC at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
PANJIM: UC Nerul scored an easy 4-1 win over Saligao United to move into the quarter-finals of the 11th London Trophy 2017 organised by Goa Velha SC at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
Saligoa United had a first shot on the goal but missed the mark narrowly. UC Nerul surged ahead in the match through Sanket Jotkar’s strike which was well crossed by Mathew Gonsalves in the 30th minute.
Soon, Sanket doubled their lead in the 34th minute. In the 46th minute, Saligao United were back in the match through a penalty strike of Steven Fernades.
UC Nerul sealed their lead through a deflection goal shot by Anson D’Souza which ended in the back of the net. Sanket completed his hat-trick for UC Nerul and put the final nail in the coffin and sealed the match completely in the dying minutes of the match.
