YC Manora edge past Sesa FA, St Savio SC win
FATORDA: Youth Club of Manora egded past Sesa FA 1-0 in the Geno First Division League organized by Goa Football Association played at Artificial Turf Fatorda on Thursday.
Either of the teams played a balanced game however the Manora side had an upper hand in the initial minutes of the game and managed to find the breakthrough in the 24th minute as Josley Moniz made his way through and slotted the ball home to make it 1-0.
At half time the scoreboad read in favour of YC Manora.
Post resumption, rejuvenated Sesa FA tried their level best to get back into the game and had a couple of chances however their strikers faltered as the rival defence stood tall.
On the other hand Manora failed to register more goals despite their fair share of chances but manned to hold on to the one-goal lead as they walked home with full points.
The man of the match was awarded to Agnelo Noronha of YC Manora.
In another match at Sirsaim ground, St Savio SC scored a narrow 2-1 win over Goa Police SC.
Ashley Lobo and Jerose Oliveira scored for the winners while Sheikh Mouzzan pulled a goal back for Goa Police SC.
Elsewhere, A.A de Moira failed to turn up for the game which was to be held at Ambelim ground against Salgaocar FC. The Salgaocar side gained a walkover.
