The Goa Konkani Akademi�s Konkani Sahitya/ Bhasha Seva Puraskar of 2009 were declared today.
 �This is the second consecutive year where we felicitate the Konkani art lovers,� the president, N Shivdas told reporters, in a conference where he was declaring the awards for the year 2009.
The awards were categorized into two main sections, namely Konkani Sahitya Puraskar and Konkani Bhasha Seva Puraskar.
For the year 2009, under Konkani Sahitya Puraskar, the best book award has been declared to six people with a cash price of Rs 10,000 and a certificate each.
In Poetry section the award has gone to Nilba Khandekar for �Black�. Ramnath Gawade has begged best short story award for �Utoll Jinn�. In drama, the award went to �Amacho Hath Jaganath� written by Rajay Pawar. Similarly Mukesh Thali� essay �Hanshadwani� also appreciated with the award. For critizm, Balkrishna Kandolkar was declared award for �Xha: Samikshentalo� and Gajanan Jog won in children�s literature for �Vorsa Fukot Vanchunk Na�.
While the Yuva Chaitanya Puraskar was declared to two young writers: Agnel Fernanades and Rajdeep Naik.
The Sahitya Pratibha Puraskar, a lifetime achievement award with cash price of Rs 25,000 along with certificate and citation was declared to Nagesh Karmali.
Similarly another lifetime achievement award, Sahitya Pradnay Puraskar went to Suresh Borkar. Even a known journalist Babli Nayak was felicitated with Shenoi Goembab Konkani Bhasha Seva Puraskar and J B Moraes won the Madhav Manjunath Shanbhag Konkani Bhasha Seva Puraskar, again a lifetime achievement award.
These awards were felicitated with a cash price of Rs 25,000, a certificate and citation.
�These lifetime awards are given to those who have given more then 50 years of their life to Konkani literature,� Shivdas said.
