PERNEM: Yet another bull died in a bullfight organized at Dandoswada, Mandrem on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, this is the second incident wherein a bull succumbed to injuries during the bullfight.
On Wednesday, Pernem police booked the bull owner Prajyot Dnyaneshwar Masurkar, a resident of Parra and organiser Ajim Abdulla Mujawar, a resident of Kudal, Sindhudurg, Maharashtra under Section 429 R/w 34 IPC and Section 11(m)(ii)(n) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and were placed under arrest.
The police also located the dead bull and the post mortem was conducted. The second bull is undergoing medical treatment. PI Jivba Dalvi said strict action will be initiated against persons for organising bullfights in future. Further investigation is in progress.
It may be recalled that a similar bullfight was organized at Dandoswada, Mandrem on January 4 wherein a bull had died. The owner and organisers were arrested and released on bail.
