PANJIM: Angel Oak beat Red Chief 5-2 to emerge champions of Small Wonders category of futsal summer slam organized by Youth Futsal Academy. Angel Oak led 4-0 at half time.
Angel Oak surged ahead when speedy striker Joy Gracias and Haden Pereira registered a brace each.

Rui Noronha led the comeback for Red Chief with two goals in the second half but Joy Gracias scored another to assure Angel Oak the title.
The finals in the Super Kids category also turned out to be a one-sided affair as Bull Buck blanked Gutless Goliath 3-0.
Somaaya Mukundan gave the finishing touches to Jordan Furtado’s pass early on and Somaaya was on hand again with an assist to Shrirang Masur who neatly finished from the former’s cross.
Shrirang Masur made it 3-0 when he beat the keeper with a deft placement in a one-on-one situation.
Dr Hubert Gomes was the chief guest and gave away the prizes alongwith Douglas Fernandes, vice-president of Youth Futsal Academy.
Individual prizes: Small Wonders / Super Kids – Best player: Rui Noronha / Jordan Furtado. Best playmaker: Gavin Pacheco / Rowan Gonsalves. Best defender: Haden Pereira / Shane Gomindes. Most promising player: Frederick Barreto / Shrirang Masur. Best goalkeeper: Shoumeet Kudchadkar / Vernin Monteiro. Most disciplined player: Joshua Barreto / Aaron Barreto. Highest scorer: Joy Gracias / Jordan Furtado. Best female player (super kids): Somaaya Mukundan.
In all, 52 boys and three girls participated.
