MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana prevailed over Social Cultural Club of Loutolim 5-3 via the tie-breaker to cruise into the semi-final of 19th All-Goa Sao Jose de Areal Villagers Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, Saturday. The teams were locked goalless at full time.
Curtorim Gymkhana nearly found the match-winner in the second session but Bruno Fernandes’ powerful header missed the mark narrowly.
Subsequently, Snako Dias’ rasping shot went inches wide.
In the penalty shoot-out, Bruno Fernandes, Roy Albuquerque, Sanko Dias, Joaquim Carvalho and Nelson Pais converted for Curtorim Gymkhana while Mandar Naik, Vollney Vaz and Roicey Cardozo were on target for Loutolim.
