Panjim: The villagers of Betul and Canaginim have been receiving scanty or no supply of water since Saturday after the main water supply line of Defence Expo has rigged into the main pipeline of water to the village. After 3 days of less or no supply of water the village finally received water on Tuesday. Communication problems at the Defence Expo due to failure in connectivity, call drops and internet failures have also wreaked havoc and have messed up the programs of the delegates.
On Tuesday the villagers of Canaguinim and Betul and other adjoining areas received regular water almost after 3 days of less or no supply of water. The vigilant locals of Betul told that the main line of the water from Selaulim to the village has been rigged and fitted with a booster valve and a motor has sucked all the water away from the village line to the Defence Expo. “This is a sacrifice of the people of the shine and glamour of the expo which is a bad trend. We called the PWD Engineer and were informed that the Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer both are absent to resolve our problem” said one of the villagers.
Not just villagers but the guests coming at the expo have been hit badly due to bad phone network at the Defence Expo. In an incident at the Betul village road a bus which was going to the Defence Expo broke down 2 Kilometres away where the delegates who got down informed that they are facing hardships in communication due to the failure in network.
In yet another incident a high rank Air Force officer who left his phone in the vehicle he was travelling in was rendered helpless after he tried to contact on his phone to which calls did not go through for over half an hour.
