“Under Section 59(I) of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 read with Section (4) of Goa Real Estate (Regulation and Development)(Registration of Real Estate Projects, Registration of Real Estate Agents, Rates of Interest and Disclosure on website) Rules 2017, it is to inform that the last date for filling online application for ongoing real estate projects registration under Goa Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has been extended till March 23, 2018 without penalty,” states the official circular.
Homebuyers in Goa face problems of delay in delivery of projects, paying charge for space outside the four walls, major maintenance expense soon after purchase and other issues. The RERA Act is expected to address many of these concerns that leave homebuyers frustrated and make builders more accountable.
The RERA Act was enacted on May 1, 2016 and notified in Goa in August 2016.
