US President Donald Trump has predicted that the war with Iran will end “immediately” after the US midterm elections in November, claiming Tehran is no longer capable of sustaining the conflict.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Trump accused Iran of trying to influence the elections. However, The Wall Street Journal reported that senior US officials have privately warned that the conflict could continue through the remaining two years of Trump’s term.

IAEA Refers Iran to UN Security Council
Pressure on Tehran intensified after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors voted to refer Iran to the UN Security Council over its alleged nuclear non-compliance.
The resolution was passed 23-3, with eight abstentions. Russia, China and Niger voted against the measure.
Iran’s representative to the IAEA rejected the resolution, saying it was adopted under US pressure and “has no basis” and would produce no results.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was “very close” to bringing down what he called Iran’s “terror regime”, during a visit to troops in southern Syria.
