MAPUSA: Parents, teachers, students, invitees and children from around the Bardez taluka gathered to witness the St Mary’s Convent Pre-Primary and High School, Mapusa, to perform at their annual sports meet, at the St Britto’s High School ground, Mapusa, recently.
Headmistress Sr M Snehala A C welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest.
On the occasion, three teachers were felicitated by the PTA at the hands of Headmistress. Aruna Rajesh Patnekar, who completed 37 years and retires in June 2025. She also received the State award. Sylvia Gonsalves e D’Souza, who completed 36 years and retires in January 2025 and Fizell Fernandes, who completed 25 years.
Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners, who excelled on the sports day by chief guest Bhagirath Shetye (Chairman of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education), guest of honour Fr Anand D’Souza, SJ (Superior of St Britto’s High School and special invitee Calangute MLA Michael Lobo. Amorette Lobo proposed a vote of thanks.
