PANJIM: Carambolim Sports Club registered a fluent 3-0 win over Agassaim Youth Club in the Goa Football Association Third Division League Ilhas Zone played, at Taleigao ground, on Thursday.
The winners led 2-0 at the break. In the initial 15 minutes of play, both the teams attacked each other’s citadel but the defence proved to be too good protecting their goal area.
But Carambolim Sports Club had the upper hand in the 16th minute because of an error created by Devendra Goankar by scoring the own goal. The result came as a blow for Agassaim Youth Club, who earlier had a decent game.
Carambolim Sports Club netted the second at the half hour mark through Mahendra Murgaonkar, thus making it worse for the Agassaim side.
Changing ends, Agassaim YC regrouped with renewed ideas and staring making forays into the rival goal in search of an equaliser.Mayur Shirodkar netted the third for the winning side in the 80th minute.
