Addressing media after inspecting the Safa Masjid, Imran Pratapgarhi said the Safa Masjid is a very historic heritage place and connected with culture and identity of Goa. The oldest churches, masjids and temples are considered identity of Goa throughout the country. He said some old heritage sites are on the verge of destruction and Congress after coming to power will take steps to protect them.

He said the Archaeological Survey of India has failed to protect the old heritage site properly because government’s intentions are not to protect historic places, whilst adding that “Government wants history wiped out. They failed to properly protect heritage sites.”

“The conspiracy hatched to bring new roads will destroy heritage of Goa. After discussing with the minorities of the State, Goans said they are unhappy with the development. Goa needs to protect its beautiful heritage,” said Pratapgarhi.
