Cricket fans around the world are gearing up for the much-anticipated release of the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup schedule. Following a thrilling cycle of international cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Cricket South Africa (CSA) are slated to officially unveil the tournament fixtures during a high-profile event in Cape Town.
The upcoming 2027 edition promises to be an extraordinary spectacle, with the hosting duties shared across three cricket-loving nations: South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Running across October and November, the 14-team tournament will feature 57 matches spread across 12 distinct venues, offering fans a massive feast of global cricket. In tandem with the schedule reveal, the ICC is also scheduled to open registrations for the official tournament ticket ballot, allowing supporters worldwide to register their interest ahead of the public sales phase.

A critical milestone leading into the schedule announcement is the September 30 qualification cut-off date. Out of the 14 competing slots, 10 teams secure their participation directly. Co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe receive automatic berths, while the remaining direct spots are decided by the standings in the official ICC ODI rankings. The remaining four positions will be determined through a fiercely contested global qualifying tournament scheduled for early next year.
Based on the rankings heading into the cut-off, heavyweights such as India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh are positioned to take direct qualification slots. Notably, while Bangladesh sits at ninth in the rankings, they comfortably secure a spot because South Africa (ranked third) qualified automatically as a host nation. Meanwhile, traditional powerhouses like the West Indies will have to navigate the qualification pathway early next year. Similarly, fellow co-hosts Namibia must battle through the qualifiers since they lack automatic Full Member qualification status.
