PANAJI: Goa Football Association (GFA) president Caitano Fernandes has said that the Fatorda stadium should remain dedicated to football and should not be handed over to the Goa Cricket Association (GCA).
Fernandes said Fatorda is Goa’s only international football stadium and should continue to serve as a home for the sport in the state.

He said the GCA has the resources to develop its own stadium rather than taking over the existing football facility.
According to Fernandes, preserving Fatorda as a football venue is important for the development and promotion of the sport in Goa. He maintained that the stadium should continue to host football activities and remain associated with the state’s footballing identity.
