PANJIM: Ponda Footballers demolished Fr Agnel Sports Club, Pilar 5-0 in GFA Under-14 League Ilhas Zone match, at Fr Agnel School ground, Pilar.
Shelton and Chetan scored a brace each while Gaurav netted one for the winners.
At half time Ponda Footballers was leading 2-0.
Ponda dominated in the proceeding and took the lead early in the 8th minute when Sham fed a diagonal pass to Chetan, who from top of the box blast to make 1-0. Ponda soon added another when Somnath dogged a defender and released the ball to well placed Gaurav, who scored from an acute angel to make it 2-0.
In the second half, Chetan received a through ball from Husmukesh and from top of box Chetan placed over advancing keeper to make it 3-0.
After taking a 3-0 lead, Ponda coach Jude Fernandes brought in three substitutes and this helped to increase the lead. Rakesh passed the ball to Rudresh, who chipped over the defender and substitute Shelton, dogged the keeper to make it 4-0.
Again Shelton got a ball inside his own half and made a solo effort by dogging four Fr Agnel players and shot into the goal but the keeper part it to travel to Shelton, who this time made no mistake to place in over diving keeper to make it 5-0.
Ponda Footballers will take on Sao Minguel De Taleigao on November 21, at Taleigao ground.
